This is a pan of fli, a popular dish here in Kosova. There are several layers that look like this current layer. This pan is about half done. Each layer of bread strips is spooned in and then a lid with hot coals (
on top) is placed over the pan to brown the dough mix. Sour cream is poured between each layer of dough, then another layer is spooned in. Repeat for about 7 layers. Often you eat it with yogurt. This pan is simply placed in the middle of the table and everyone just picks at the portion of the circular pan directly in front of them. Pick until you get to the bottom. We have a hard time getting to the bottom of our section - it's quite filling. I favor the browned (crunchy) strips.

I pray a blessing on the family of G and H - as well as that of Gary and Julia. I have been blessed by being hosted by Musim families. I pray that they may know the true identity of our Lord. I would imagine that they also pray that I submit to the will of Allah as revealed in the Quran. To practice your faith is not an embarassing badge of intolerance as it is in the West. It is as it should be. Permeating it all is the joy of hospitality. May your fli be tasty and brown and may the Lord bless your coming and going.
I have no idea if my last comment just went through. I'm new to this whole "blogging" thing, so if I am repeating everything I apologize. Anyway, it sounds as though you all are experiencing many exciting and different things. I think I would defiantly loose weight with the food choices, that would be a good thing. ( I'm too picky!) Congratulations on the baptism, that is awesome. Melanie, I think Foxy's mane has grown 2 inches and 1/2 is laying over. I think she misses you like the rest of us. Jennifer said you had something for me to read, I can't wait. We had the Halloween Party, and once I figure out how to send pictures I will. I will continue to pray for you all.
Take care,
Kim
